Jorge Toro – Mexico

About Jorge Toro:

I was born on August 20, 1980 in Mexico City.
At the age of 5 years, my dad gave me my first camera. It was a Kodak camera, that truth be told I can’t remember what model it was, but this was the initial model I used when my love for photography was born.
I took photos of cars, trees, people, streets and I remember that my dad was angry at me because I shot everything I could, and he said that the photographs were for the important moments of life. But for me it was important and everything had to be photographed.

I grew up and interests changed a bit. When I went to college I took a photography class and learned to reveal and print. But again I had a distance with photography.

In 2004 I had an accident where I almost lost my life and in the rehabilitation process, I had a lot of time in front of the computer and that was when I discovered a digital age of photography.

I bought me a Sony Cyber-Shot and started taking pictures at parties, weddings of my friends, travel or even on the stage when I played with my band.

In 2006 I had the opportunity to buy a Pentax *ist DL and with this camera I discovered that my passion in life was more photography than music. I started studying it a whole lot more in a self learning college.

4 years have passed since I had my first DSLR camera and I can not stop shooting.

Now, I´m a photographer in México City.

Here are some photos I’ve taken:
