The 2011 Photo Odyssey – A Year in Pictures

Question: “So what’s all this fuzz about?”

The Photo Odyssey Team has set themselves a high goal: starting JANUARY 1st 2011 we will be posting at least one new picture a day throughout the entire year. Everyone is free to post whatever they’ve shot on the day, as long as it was photographed on the day of posting and is in some way artistic.

Question: “What will it bring for the (hopefully day-to-day-checking) audience?”

You’re invited to join us here, following our Journey through our lives, our passion and through everything we’re seeing.
The audience will see our continuity, our progress in making “art” and hopefully will learn out of our failures, our achievments and just have fun looking and talking about our pictures. Of course everyone is invited to leave comments (constructive criticism is always welcomed!), either trough the comment section in each post or through our facebook page!

Question: “How exactly is the posting routine?”

That is indeed a good question. Trough the many days we persued so far it came clear to us, due to the various time zones we live in, no real time schedule can be set. As a team we agreed that the last chance to upload a picture to our server would be latest at exactly 11:45pm / 23:45h in the respective zone. For example: Moritz in Germany is 6h earlier than John, making a post from him seem too late to be accountable on our project. But in his zone that is not the case. In terms of fairness this is, by far as we found out and agreed on, the best way to do this. We are very well aware that this has its ups and downs for some regions and its respecitve timezones, but you can be sure that we’re always after the quickest way to upload it!

Next thing we’re presenting is the Team and with that our represantatives for each country:

Manu Schwingel for Egypt

Pascal Stingl for Switzerland

Tomasz Michalski for Poland

Moritz Schwertner for Germany

Jorge Toro for Mexico

and John Behrends for the United States of America

You can find out more about our Photographers in the Menue Bar!

Of course this project will move on through the days, and we’re planning a whole lot of things while you’re reading this. More Info about this will come soon and will be posted seperately, so stay tuned!
